‘Wonder’ Original post-impressionist textured art by Nancy Okang

Thick brushstrokes bring a schoolyard break scene to life, capturing the bright light and shade under neem trees. This painting is inspired by my work as a volunteer Bible educator in the coastal town of Ningo, and depicts the curiosity and desire to learn in one of my young friends, Adwoa. In a community where young girls grow faster than they should, this is one of the few moments where they can just be curious girls learning about the world around them and how to protect themselves. The painting is 35 inches by 35 inches, acrylic on stretched canvas frame, ships from Ghana.
